Never been there before. It is a 147 mile trip for me to get there and it was well worth it. The course has a great layout and is impeccably maintained. The tee areas are well cared for, the fairways are superb and the greens are immaculate. Of the courses that I have played this year, I would rank the Trout Lake Golf Club with The Links of Lawsonia in Green Lake, WI and The Bridges course in Winona. I recommend this course to all golfers.

Trout Lake Golf Course is about 90 years old. This course displays its age surprisingly well. The fairways are like hitting off of fine carpeting. You feel bad when you create a divot. We found the greens very fast and the greens roll true with crisp cups. The course is in great shape. It also has the finest practice facility anywhere in northern Wisconsin. There is a snack shack at the mid point serving great hot dogs with newly remodeled bathrooms. Trout Lake offers a truly scenic experience with towering white pines and oak trees. There is a unique tree growth where a pine and oak share root structure between #6 & #7. Wildlife is in abundance. Nature at it’s finest. We saw deer, turtles basking in the sun, Canadian geese teaching their chicks, huge redhorse suckers navigating the river on Hole #1. Playing Trout Lake you will experience the “Devil’s Elbow.” The elbow is a golfer’s challenge to be experienced. Playing Trout Lake with a full course we finished our round in 3.5 hours. A very pleasant golfing experience. And last but not least, the screened-in porch offers you a chance to relax with a cold one, grab a sandwich after your round and watch other players navigate the 18th hole.

GREAT COURSE ….FRIENDLY PEOPLE & AMAZING NORTHWOODS VIEWS……LOVE THIS COURSE

Fun course and beautiful. However some holes are extra tough for women golfers. Almost impossible to par some par fives. Enjoyed it as it was challenging also.

One of the nicest courses in the Northwoods. Well maintained and playable for different skill levels. Great staff and the porch overlooking the 18th hole was special. We will be back!

Went to trout lake when on vacation, wonderful views and course was playing in peak condition. Fairways like carpet, greens rolling smooth. Really enjoyed the layout, and the doglegs provide a lot of interesting holes. Clubhouse was nice and staff were pleasant. I will return next time I am in the area.
